The L2S is organised in three research groups :  

The Signals and Statistics group

By considering signals and images as "information carriers", researchers of this group make the discipline emerge from the classical framework of Gaussian, monovariable, stationnary signals and linear models. Instead, the group develops new appropriate models ...

The Systems and Control group

Our methodolofical approach to research on systems and control builds upon the application of exact sciences  such as physics and biology. We intensively use and develop branches of applied mathematics such as geometry, optimisation and dynamical systems. Then, we adress diverse problems of analysis, modelling and control of physical systems emerging from modern engineering (mechathronics, energy, electrical, mechanical, robotics) ...

The Networks and Telecoms group

This entity develops long term studies in the area of Networks, Telecommunications and Multimedia Security. Our methodological approach avoids the traditional layered network paradigm, since local optimization does not promise substantial performance improvement, as opposed to cross-layer optimization. We focus on theoretical tools such as game theory, information theory, stochastic geometry, information geometry, and the topic of
cooperation in wireless networks is a large part of our efforts.

 The ELEDIA@L2S group

The ELEDIA@L2S Group is devoted to the development of new paradigms, approaches, and methodologies and to their application in Electromagnetics, with specific focus on innovative algorithms and techniques for non-destructive testing and evaluation, modeling, simulation, and design of innovative materials and metamaterials for field-manipulation devices, project and validation of new radar systems and radar processing algorithms, and next-generation complex system design through the System-by-Design paradigm.
