Antonio Loria, born in Mexico in 1969, is a research scientist on automatic control. His domains of expertise lie within engineering sciences, applied mathematics, robotics, and energy networks. He holds a tenure research position at the the French National Centre of Scientific Research (CNRS) since 1999 (Senior Researcher since 2007). He got the BSc degree in Electronic Engineering from the ITESM, Monterrey, Mexico in 1991 ; the MSc and PhD degrees in Control Engg. (automatic control) from the UTC, France in 1993 and Nov. 1996 respectively. From 1996 through 1998 he held temporary research positions in The Netherlands (U of Twente), in Norway (NTNU), and in the USA (UCSB). He is (co)author of more than 200 scientific publications. For over 14 years, A. Loria has continuously served as associate editor for the top-notch scientific journals in automatic control (IEEE, IFAC) as well as in international program committees of numerous international conferences. He has coordinated and participated in a wide number of reserch projects financed by the European Union, the NSF (USA), the NFR (Norway), the CNRS (France), the CONACyT (Mexico). He has also acted as an expert consultant for the evaluation of numerous research grants for the European Union, the ANR (France), and CONICYT (Chili).
